Buzzflick — Creative Studio

Buzzflick wanted their new studio to feel genuinely creative — energetic, warm, and nothing like a standard corporate office. The space they had taken was a raw industrial unit with exposed brick walls, concrete floors, and steel beams: full of character but completely unfurnished. The brief called for an open layout with clearly defined zones — focused work desks for the production team, acoustic creative pods for calls and individual deep work, a relaxed lounge for team breakouts and client visits, and a formal meeting room for pitches. Every furniture decision needed to complement the industrial aesthetic of the space rather than fight it. Buzzflick also needed everything installed and operational within 7 days of lease commencement, as the team was relocating from a co-working space with a fixed end date.

The exposed brick walls and concrete floors created a cold, hard acoustic environment that would make the open-plan area uncomfortable for a full working day. All workstations and pods needed soft material elements — acoustic panels, upholstered screens, fabric chair backs — to bring the reverb down to a workable level without covering the industrial features the client wanted to preserve. We also needed to route power and data cables across the concrete floor to the workstation island in the centre of the room with no floor channels available, which required custom-built cable management legs on every desk in the central cluster.
